Water Quality of Gray’s Lake

Mrs. Kissell’s seventh grade science students tested the water quality of Gray’s Lake recently.  Water was brought into the classroom from Gray’s Lake and was tested for nitrates, phosphates, pH, turbidity (how cloudy the water is) and dissolved oxygen.  Preliminary tests showed that Gray’s Lake is overall fairly clean based on the tests performed.

Students will compare the results of Gray’s Lake with other water sources around the world.  They will use this information to study how human actions have both intended and unintended impacts on the environment both locally and globally.
