Four Brody Teachers Recognized for Success

TASARA OCHESKEY-6^th grade Mathematics and Science – Ms. Ocheskey was named an exemplar middle school mathematics teacher and identified to participate in a research study at Iowa State examining teaching practices and strategies in teaching mathematics to African-American students.

ELIZABETH TREINEN-English Language Learners – Ms. Treinen, a first year Brody teacher, has been nominated to receive the Michael Oates “Teacher of Promise” award by the Iowa World Language Association.

BRANDIE YOUNG- 6^th grade Language & Literature/Individuals and Societies and
DIONE FERGUSON-  Design (Family and Consumer Science) – Ms. Young and Ms. Ferguson have stepped up to provide the “Dream to Teach” program at Brody. This mentoring and support program helps identify and encourage students of color at Brody who are interested in exploring a career in education after high school.
